Postcard from... Ubud Monkey Forest

Image
I was in Bali, Indonesia in 2009 , and my favourite place in the island was not the famous beaches - rather it was Ubud, a small town in the middle of the island (well, not really in the middle, but it was a town with no beaches in sight). One of the places to visit is the Ubud Monkey Forest . The area lived up to its name - it was a forest full of monkeys! There were times when I stood motionless due to the monkeys all around me - no, not in awe but rather in fear. But when I was sure that they would not bother me and were doing their own activities, I enjoyed watching them - caring for their babies, diving into a small little pond, eating nuts and bananas, "grooming" another monkey and even drinking from a water bottle! Keep monkeying! - nateniale -  { Click here for other posts on my Bali trip in 2009 and a list of my travelogues }

A walk along Changi Point

Image
On a Saturday afternoon that we wanted to be away from the city and felt like taking a walk, we decided to visit a little corner in Singapore that we have yet to step on - Changi Point. With a quick search online, we found a website with walking maps all around Singapore . The Coastal Point Changi Walk is broken down into various parts - Creek Walk, Beach Walk, Sailing Point Walk, Cliff Walk, Kelong Walk and Sunset Walk. It was good to see a different side of Singapore, although unfortunately, some of the beach was pretty dirty! I thought it would be quiet but there were still some people enjoying the walk, taking photos, fishing and even sailing, enjoying a quiet weekend away from the buzz of the city. My favourite part of the walk would be the Kelong Walk. There were many people fishing along the way and we were there just in time for a sunset on the Sunset Walk. Unfortunately, the sun was hidden behind the clouds, but we still managed to enjoy the golden orange of the sunset.

Movie Preview: No Strings Attached

I first saw Ashton Kutcher playing the "dude" guy in "Dude, Where's My Car?" I hated the movie and stopped watching after a few minutes. However, I was pretty impressed when I watched him in "The Butterfly Effect". He continued to have a pretty good career, but not so much for his acting skill. Natalie Portman is an amazing actress. She has been winning awards after awards and is even expected to win the Oscars for her role in "Black Swan". With Star Wars, Closer, V for Vendetta and many others under her belt, she will continue to have a stellar career as an actress. I would never have imagined these 2 actors in the same movie together, so I was pretty surprised when I learnt that both of them would be starring in a romantic comedy "No Strings Attached". After watching the trailer , I was looking forward to catch the movie. The movie is about two friends who decided to have one of those "friends with benefits" kind o
